“Man Up”

Growing up, I heard "man up" all the time. Directed at my brothers and male figures closest to me, the insistence that Hispanic men in my life hide their emotions and vulnerability was constant. It hurt. It hurt them, and it hurt me. I wanted to create a safe space where a Hispanic man could be vulnerable. These pictures are the result of that effort.
